Sightly inspired by the work of W. A. Dwiggins, Ocre is a robust type system that resulted from an exploration of contrast between soft outer shapes and sharp inner shapes. Its relatively large x-height, robust serifs, and low contrast make it a reliable choice even at smaller sizes, where the sharp inner shapes act as ink traps increasing the overall legibility. Both Ocre Sans and Ocre Serif were conceived for complex design environments and come with OpenType features relevant for this usage case, such as Small Caps. However this type system would not be complete without a display version, therefore we created Ocre Poster, a special version bursting with personality. In this version, the contrast between outer and inner shapes is even more accentuated, particularly in the italics, for an enhanced character. Ocre Poster comes with swash versions and a different set of OpenType features particularly designed for display sizes.
